Having retired in 2013, my aviation photography since then has centered around old aeroplanes with piston engines. This was probably me rebelling against the modern noisy, pointy types having spent nearly all my life living on or around Royal Air Force bases, my father was in the RAF, and 31 years as a Civil Servant employed by the RAF.
Prior to retiring, I built up a collection of modern-ish military aircraft photographs taken over the years on base visits, airshows and overseas trips. I have, since retiring, continued photographing the occasional noisy, pointy types, when the situation arose, but I have not gone out of my way to find them.
The majority of the photographs posted here are digital but there will be some ‘Golden Oldies’ scanned from 6x4 prints or from the original 35mm negatives, if I can remember where I stored them.
