A very quiet day at Duxford. B-17/Sally-B was having it’s No3 engine changed before going into the hangar for winter maintenance. The Fighter Collection had their Mk.V Spitfire and Corsair out for engine runs before the museum opened and the fuselage of the Staggerwing returned after having some major tubular framework replaced at the nose. There was to have been a General Aviation fly-in but the blustery wind put paid to that with only a handful of GA types braving the weather. Two-seat Spitfire PV202 was parked on the grass at ARCo with the fuselage D-Day stripes removed.

A very blustery day at Duxford and by early afternoon had dug my gloves out of my camera bag to combat the windchill on my extremities. A Sikorsky S-92A, based at Stansted, flew in to use Duxford as a base as it did several maintenance check flights. Along with The Fighter Collections Corsair, the Spitfire V was a reserve aircraft, the Historic Aircraft Collections Hurricane flew up to Grantham, Lincolnshire, late afternoon for a memorial flypast for the funeral of the late Alan Wade who used to fly warbirds at Duxford.
